After showers, we dingy back to the Islamorada Fish Company for dinner. We get a table, and the food is alright, but it was much better 3 years ago. The ok food was replaced a floor show at the table next to us. At first there is a group of 10 people who moved from a table behind us to this table that the waiters set up to accommodate the group. Then they start complaining about the sun and whatever else. They order drinks and then one of them says “we leaving”. They bring in another group with 6 kids (Oh great!) and they complain about the sun, and they get moved to another table. Another group, you get the picture. We comment to the waitress, “Is it us?”, and she laughs. One couple with their children finally settles in at the table. We dingy back to a beautiful sunset.

Day 11 – April 9
We’re off to Islamorada, which is a short 25 miles away. The journey is uneventful, and we note a couple of areas which could provide an alternative anchorage to the Blackwater Sound. Today is a full motor day as there are lots of twists and turns through the cuts between the inside bays. We take the advice from the Cruiser’s Guide, and make the turn into the bay where we will anchor tonight. We arrive around 2 pm, so I lower the dingy and we go check out the shore side places. We walk around a bit and decide to have dinner at the same place we did 3 years ago.
