Well the crossing day is upon us. It appears that we will have some good weather to get across the gulf stream tomorrow. We are anchored outside of No Name Harbor in Key Biscayne as the harbor was crowded. We left Marine Park Stadium on Virginia Key after topping off our fuel and water tanks and a final pump out.
I spent some time today pouring over the charts and re-reading the Bahamas guides for crossing the gulf stream. After consulting with Dennis, we felt that tomorrow was a good day to cross. We plan on getting started around 6:30, and should be in Bimini by mid afternoon.
A beauutiful sunset over Biscayne Bay provided a back drop to our last night in the states for a while.
